BRANDING/ILLUSTRATION 2021
	Working alongside creative agencies&#38;nbsp;Overice and Hyphen Works for packaging design, I created these vivid watercolor fruit illustrations for Yunhai's 2021 dried goods. Yunhai is your go-to neigborhood grocery store for a delightful selection of premium Taiwanese pantry goodies in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Seen on Bon Appétit, 
Grub Street.“In April of 2021, we ran a Kickstarter campaign to collect preorders for dried fruit sourced from independent farmers in Taiwan, who were negatively impacted by the sudden ban China put in place on Taiwanese pineapples.
 
In 30 days, we raised over $100,000 from 1,000 backers, and were able to purchase&#38;nbsp;over 14 tons of fruit from small farmers vulnerable to political trade volatility between China and Taiwan.” -Yun Hai

	Pin-Wei Garden Tea&#38;nbsp;PACKAGING/BRANDING 2022-ONGOING PROJECT

	I worked with PWG Tea, a family-owned business founded 
25 years ago in Taiwan, known for their award-winning teas. I handled the branding, from the logo and color scheme to the overall look and feel of their visual identity. This included designing the packaging for their NO.18 Taiwan Tea and Taiwan High Mountain Oolong Tea, as well as creating print and digital materials like space signage, ads, and social media content to help shape their brand’s presence across different platforms.

They were especially drawn to the organic, imperfect beauty of traditional stamp designs, where ink seeps beyond the edges, creating a sense of authenticity and craftsmanship.

With that in mind, I designed a logo that echoes the essence of a hand-stamped seal while also capturing the flowing lines of a tea farm. Instead of the expected, traditional greens, PWG preferred a more refined palette. I chose black and an amber-brown hue as the primary colors—representing the way tea transforms as it brews, deepening in richness. Each shade was carefully selected and named to reflect tea culture: the black, Night Brew, and the warm brownish coral, Tea Spiced. Accents of green, gold, and a soft gradient bring in the ever-changing beauty of Nantou—the heart of their tea farm—where misty mountains and glowing sunsets create a landscape as layered and dynamic as the tea itself.


Celebrating 25 years in business, PWG is deeply rooted in tradition. However, they wanted a new look and vibe that would resonate with today’s audience, bridging their rich history with a fresh, modern appeal. Earlier this month, I had the chance to visit their farm in Nantou, experiencing firsthand the landscape, the tea-making process, and the deep-rooted traditions that inspire PWG. Seeing it all in person made this project even more meaningful, allowing me to capture the essence of their world through design.

The Process - Packaging
The delicate lines and gradient were thoughtfully incorporated into their packaging, complementing the elegance of their two signature teas: No. 18, 
an award-winning black tea, and No. 13, a beautifully crafted green tea. To highlight the distinct personalities of these teas, I used two different fonts—
one reflecting the depth and richness of the black tea, and the other capturing the freshness and vibrancy of the green tea.

	AKARI Sauna House
IDENTITY/ILLUSTRATION 2023
	The modern Japanese sauna house in Williamsburg, 
Brooklyn is infused with fresh energy and a deep appreciation for Japanese architecture and Noguchi’s sculptures. Working with Overice, I designed the logo with the intention of capturing the brand's blend of tranquility and contemporary aesthetics and the little mini figures to capture the movements at the bathhouse.

	San Gimignano
IDENTITY 2021 &#124; Self-Initiated
	The project aims to develop a fresh and modern brand identity for San Gimignano Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990, the town is renowned for its well-preserved Medieval architecture, picturesque landscape, and renowned Vernaccia di San Gimignano wine. 
Key landmarks include the&#38;nbsp;Torri dei Salvucci, Torre Grossa, and Torre Rognosa. Having personally experienced the beauty of San Gimignano in 2018, including its hilltop skyline, vineyards, cobblestone streets, and delicious gelato, it holds a special place in my heart.San Gimignano started as a casual conversation between me and a designer friend while talking about travel—places we’ve been, places we love, and where we still want to go. SG has always been one of my favourite places, but she had never heard of it. That got me thinking—if people can be brands, why can’t a place like this? A place that deserves to be known by more people. So, I started this project with the idea of branding SG in a way that feels relatable, something that makes people want to visit and experience it for themselves.

I pulled together photos I had taken and landed on three main colors: a deep purple and dark red, inspired by the region’s wine culture, and a muted green, representing the beautiful landscape. There’s also a touch of warm brown, reflecting the cobblestone streets and medieval towers. The goal was to capture SG’s history and charm but with a modern twist.

The LogoThe logo features a tower-like window—almost like an imaginary door—inviting you to see San Gimignano through it. When I visited in 2017, I noticed how the town was filled with medieval towers, not just in SG itself but scattered across the surrounding areas. Turns out, these towers were a big deal back in the day—built by wealthy families as a show of power. At one point, there were around 72 of them, some towering up to 50 meters high. Today, 14 remain, and they’re a huge part of what makes SG’s skyline so special. Walking through the town, you see them peeking through alleyways, framed by arches, adding to that layered, historic feel. Thanks to good preservation, the towers still stand, shaping the unique, almost time-frozen charm of SG.
Now, the logo forms a window that invites you in. Design-wise, when the window is hollow, the background becomes part of the story—whether it’s a glimpse of a local pharmacy, the texture of a weathered stone wall, or the cobblestone walkway leading up to a tower. It’s about creating a sense of place, letting people see SG through different layers, just like how you experience the town itself.

The Exhibit
In these poster series I created, I imagined SG as the subject of a fictional photography exhibit in collaboration with MFA Boston—thinking about how a show like this could introduce more people to the beauty of this place through photography. I envisioned a curated collection of images that highlight SG’s timeless atmosphere, from its weathered stone buildings to the way light hits the narrow streets at golden hour. On my website, in the photography section, I also included some of the film photos I took there in 2017, capturing that historic, rich, rusty, yet effortlessly Italian vibe—something that feels both nostalgic and alive at the same time.

The Socials
I designed a series of social posts that connect SG to its local events, wine, and music—making it feel more lively, welcoming, and easy to engage with.The idea was to highlight the town’s culture in a way that resonates with both locals and visitors, while also supporting small businesses and creating a stronger sense of community.To go along with this, I also designed a tote—something practical to carry around town and a perfect keepsake to take home, extending the experience beyond the visit.

The Wine&#38;nbsp;Luce nel VicoloThis label was created as part of a larger campaign connecting SG’s local culture—its wine, music, and everyday moments. Designed for a bottle of Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Luce nel Vicolo (“Light in the Alley”) plays with contrast and discovery. The L-shaped die-cut offers a glimpse of the wine inside before the bottle is even opened, echoing the quiet charm of the town itself: something you ease into, a little more with every corner. The label is matte and minimal, with just enough texture to feel handcrafted. Paired with local events and gatherings, this bottle is meant to be part of the experience—something casual, thoughtful, and rooted in place.

Visual identity for the Fretful Porpentine, a podcast hosted by writer and journalist Valerie Stivers and Jeff Gross exploring pieces of classical music that appear in literature. Inspired by the show's literary roots, eccentric title, and desire for something unexpectedly young and cool, the project included a 
logo, cover artwork, episode thumbnails, and social media assets.

Starting with the brief of a porcupine in a ruff, I developed 
three distinct identity directions that balanced literary references, 
classical influences, and an intentionally young, offbeat sensibility.


Smart but Scrappy

The hand-drawn, ink-bleed illustration gives the porcupine personality. It stands there nonchalant in a tiny ruff, understated but confident. Paired with a serif that feels classic and a little nerdy, it strikes a balance that feels cool, thoughtful, and low-key refined. 
The irregular cutout frame adds an edge without being loud. 
It’s smart, a little off, and has good taste.

Quiet Drama

This one’s graphic and a little gritty. The porcupine is hand-drawn with halftone texture, and 
a detailed ruff that’s intricate and a little theatrical, but still grounded. Its face is blank, almost expressionless, but the ruff and posture carry the attitude. The tilted type breaks the layout just enough 
to feel slightly off. It doesn’t shout,  but it pulls you in. There’s a quiet tension, like something pulled 
from an old book and given a bit more bite.

Lo-Fi Baroque

This one starts out feeling classic. Serif type, structured layout. Then the pixel treatment kicks in. 
The porcupine is chunky and simplified, with a tiny ruff and a music note tucked into its blocky quills.
The logo plays with a print and screen contrast—old-school type meets lo-fi digital weirdness. 
It’s the most unexpected of the three logos, but that’s what makes it special.

	JOOK is a New York–based freeze-dried congee brand founded by three friends. Following a community pop-up 
at Columbus Park in Manhattan's Chinatown in October 2025, the team began preparing for its official launch

I chose a T-shirt with visible seam lines because it echoed the stitched construction of rice bags, creating a subtle connection to JOOK's core product.

	CBC Chinatown 
Basketball ClubIDENTITY / BRANDING / ILLUSTRATION / MERCH 2023-ONGOING PROJECT


	Founded in 2019 by artist Lu Zhang and curator Herb Tam, CBC (Chinatown Basketball Club) created a community that welcomes players of all skill levels to join pickup games at Columbus Park in Chinatown.


I designed weekly social graphics for CBC and created the branding, merch, and visual identity for the MiniMarket (迷你市集). Every October, CBC hosts The Autumn Classic basketball tournament and the MiniMarket, fusing basketball with art, music, design, and dance in a unique Chinatown festival.


The Chameleon logo I designed — MiniMarket’s mascot — reflects CBC’s diverse community of creatives and athletes.

I took on this project from start to finish on my own, and it’s been amazing to have the full trust and aligned vision with Lu and Herb, the founders.
MiniMarket is a sub-brand of CBC, a New York-based nonprofit created by artists and designers as a space for people to play basketball—a community, but more. If the basketball tournaments CBC hosts are the game, then MiniMarket is the celebration. We bring together local artists, DJs, performers, and food vendors to turn the annual tournament into something bigger—an event that showcases creativity, culture, and connection.
Many well-known local artists have sold their work at MiniMarket, including Miwa Neishi, a Tokyo-born, New York-based artist whose sculptural ceramics are inspired by abstract expressionism, prehistoric clay figures, and Japanese calligraphy. Each piece is hand-built, fully functional as a vase, and invites people to engage with organic forms in new ways. Her work is sold at the Noguchi Museum and beyond.

The Mascot - Chameleon
When I first met with Lu to talk about creating a brand for MiniMarket, we immediately landed on the idea of a mascot. But what kind of mascot? I threw out a bunch of traditional mythical creatures—dragons, phoenixes, qilins—but nothing quite fit. Then I started thinking about what kind of animal could truly represent CBC.
Everyone here comes from different backgrounds—artists, designers, bankers, athletes—each bringing something unique to the community. That ever-changing, adaptive nature is what led me to the chameleon. Just like how it shifts colors with its surroundings, we, too, take on different identities in our daily lives but come together as one at CBC.
From a design perspective, the chameleon made even more sense. Since MiniMarket is event- and campaign-based, we could play with its color-changing nature to create a fresh look each year—incorporating new textures, gradients, and elements that reflect the tournament’s theme. For example, this year’s theme was Growth, so I leaned into greens, stem-like shapes, and pops of bright lime yellow and purple to capture that energy and vibrancy.
The mascot isn’t just a mascot—it’s a reflection of who we are as a community.
